Eligibility for this option will depend on your county, so please contact the court where your citation was received for verification prior to registering. If you have elected to take the BDI course in the past twelve months, you may still be eligible to take the 8-hour Intermediate Driver Improvement (IDI) course to receive the points-saving benefit.
You must not hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL).You may only elect to take a BDI course five times in your lifetime.You may only elect to take a BDI course once every 12 months.In order to obtain the benefits associated with attending BDI, you will need to meet the following eligibility requirements: Have elected to attend a course within the previous 12 months b. Make sure to check with your insurance company first for details on their discount programs. After receiving a moving violation, you may elect to attend an approved four-hour basic driver improvement course to remove the points associated with the traffic ticket. If you did NOT commit a moving violation and you voluntarily complete a 4-hour Basic Driver Improvement course, you may be eligible to receive a discount up to 10%. However, there is an additional insurance benefit for attending BDI that you might be able to take advantage of.
